    • Mrs. White:

      • We imagine Mrs.White as a savvy, humorless, elegant, socialite on the edge of madness. She may very well be a murderess, but behind her veil of mystery and drama, we may never really know. She is restrained and "cold" which makes her brilliant "flame scene" all the more out of character until she immediately reverts to her controlled and even, almost silent-film style persona . Truth base choices with heightened sensibility; keep it honest, but elevate it. Dive in...all in!

    • Mrs. Peacock:

      • Though on the surface, she can appear to be dotty, doddering, batty, larger-than-life lady, we imagine Mrs. Peacock is actually a secretly shrewd, calculating political mind- the power behind her Husband's success. A functional alcoholic with a tendency toward hysteria, she is a woman who gets what she wants. Truth base choices with heightened sensibility; keep it honest, but elevate it. Dive in...all in!

BREAKDOWN:

DIRECTOR’S NOTE:

Clue is actively seeking diverse theatre workers. This diversity includes, but is not limited to different communities, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, ethnic and racial backgrounds, sexual orientations, body types, ages, and ability. Looking for fearless actors with a great love of comedy. A spirit of mischief and madness welcome. A generous ensemble of unique actors with a collective “yes and” vibe. Truth essential to the comedy; these characters are literally in a life and death circumstance.

WADSWORTH – Late 30’s to 50. A traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal and “by the book.” Wadsworth is the driving force in the play.

MISS SCARLET – 35-50. A dry, sardonic D.C. Madam, more interested in secrets than sex.

MRS. PEACOCK – 40’s to 50’s The wealthy spouse of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.

MRS. WHITE – 40’s to 50’s Morbid and tragic. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of five ex-husbands.

COLONEL MUSTARD – 40’s to 50’s. A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a Colonel. Mustard is less of a Colonel type and more of an Inspector Clouseau (blustery and dumb). 100% committed to what he has to say. No accent.

PROFESSOR PLUM -- 40’s to 50’s . Arrogant, academic and egotistic.

MR. GREEN – Late 20’s to 30’s. A timid, yet officious, rule follower who is awfully anxious until true identities are revealed, and we see a much more together type.

YVETTE – 25-35. A loyal and sexy, French Maid.

ENSEMBLE 1

30-45 THE COOK – Gruff with a threatening presence. (Alive and Dead). SINGING TELEGRAM MESSENGER - A tap dancer with a heart of gold. (Alive and Dead). AUXILIARY SCARLET - The back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery.

ENSEMBLE 2:

30-50. MR. BODDY – A slick, Frank Sinatra, film noir-esque type. (Alive and Dead). THE MOTORIST - A benign passerby who rings the wrong doorbell. (Alive and Dead). CHIEF OF POLICE - A cop who helps to save the day.

ENSEMBLE 3:

30-50. Black, male identifying. 5'10" and up. THE "BROKEN DOWN CAR" COP -- A hard working, blue collar cop (Alive and Dead). BACKUP COP - Backup for the chief. AUXILIARY MUSTARD - The back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery
