    • IMPORTANT NOTE FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR:

      • "Vocally, we are going for a more 50s period sound. When singing from the show, please avoid modern pop riffs or vocal “fireworks”. When in doubt, stick to the notes on the page. Thank you!"

    • PLEASE bring your HEADSHOT AND RESUME whenever you audition for me. Thank you!

  • 10/5: 1:40PM

A SPECIAL NOTE FOR OUR ARTISTS:

As we begin casting and pre-production on GREASE, we are committed to addressing and amending character descriptions and text from the original 1972 Broadway script that are widely offensive and not aligned with the commitment of McCoy Rigby Productions continues to make to keep the theater safe, diversity, equitable and inclusive. We are actively making the necessary changes and they will be reflected by callbacks.

McCoy Rigby Entertainment is committed to ensuring that you have the ability to create, work and thrive in a space that is free of racism, safe to voice experiences of trauma without retaliation and to continue to move towards an equitable and inclusive space for all.  McCoy Rigby Entertainment has pledged to elevate the standard of equity and inclusion for BIPOC through active and ongoing protocol changes. McCoy Rigby Entertainment is committed to continue to be in, and create, a space of learning for everyone in the company and the creative teams and artists we engage with throughout the season. We pledge to hold ourselves accountable, participate in hard and honest conversations, and create a space where everyone feels safe and supported to create their best work and thrive.

AUDITION MATERIAL:

LIVE AUDITION CHECKLIST:

  • Please clear ANY AND ALL conflicts with Julia Flores BEFORE you audition

  • Please email COVID Vax card before your audition date info@Florescasting.com

  • Please bring Audition sides for the role(s) you have been asked to read and any others you are interested in

  • GENERAL NOTES:

    • After 2+ years of being mostly on camera, many actors have let their stage muscles slacken a bit. I'm talking about the size of your voice (both volume and placement) and the size of your bodies. Take up space. Use your full instrument. And remember- La Mirada Theatre is a 1,251 seat theater and we need you to play to the last row.

    • Keep the style and the period of the piece in mind.

    • The Students are blue collar misfits who are still finding their way. They are not straight-laced and legit. Play and enjoy finding these characters (not caricatures though); that's what will make this fun for everyone!

    • We will ask everyone to please wear a mask while in the lobby area and inside the audition room until you audition. You are more than welcome to keep your mask on throughout though if you feel more comfortable and/or have recently been sick or exposed to COVID.
