FAQ/UPDATES:

All updates will be posted here. The newest information will be listed at the top. We will also date and time any new details so that you know you have the most current information.

  • November 27th 9:20pm

    • We are now cast! My thanks to everyone who shared their time and talent with us; this is the first chapter in our "Mystic Pizza" Adventure and as the show grows and develops, I look forward to seeing many of you again!

  • September 29th: 1:30pm

    • GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL: It's so wonderful to be in a live room with you all! We have noticed that after 2+ years of being mostly on camera, many actors have let their stage muscles slacken a bit. I'm talking about the size of your voice (both volume and placement) and the size of your bodies. Take up space. Use your full instrument. And remember- La Mirada is a 1,251 seat theater and we need you to play to the last row.

    • NEW INFO FOR TIM: P. 23 "Delivery" to P.26 "...waiting for her ship." We will go into INTO THE MYSTIC after this scene.P. 98 “Hi.” To p.99 “Goodbye Tim.””

    • SIDES OPTIONS FOR DEBBIE AND BONNIE- The tracking for some of the Ensemble roles is fluid, so here are some sides options:

      • DEBBIE:  *NEW SIDE CHOICES: The role of Nikki should read 28-33. If you feel better suited to a younger role/type, please prepare: Teresa page 89 just that short section at the top of the page.

      • AUNT BONNIE/POLLY WINDSOR/ENSEMBLE *NEW MATERIAL: If you feel suited to the age (28-33) please prepare the side for NIKKI - P.75 "Hello" - CUT after N: "He asked you to close the windows" - resume w Tim (p 77): "Man, it's really coming down out there - continue to P.78 "Well, I hope she'll be alright."

      • Full Sides List: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/wznsdkoja34mbbdg1f6i5/h?rlkey=p1o6x274xzs67ajzfd9yqi3kt&dl=0

  • September 7th: 5:15pm

    • ACTORS AUDITIONING FOR ?/ENSEMBLE: Since the understudies for the leads will come from the Supporting Ensemble, it would be great to also hear a song (or part of it) and maybe a side for whichever principal role you feel most drawn to. Your choice!

LIVE AUDITION CHECKLIST:

  • GENERAL NOTES:

    • We have been watching the audition videos and I want to encourage you to 100% lean into the pop/rock sound more for this and take out any/all traditional musical theatre vocals. This is way more "Mamma Mia" than "Les Mis" my friends! Enjoy and have fun!

I'm talking about the size of your voice (both volume and placement) and the size of your bodies. Take up space. This is a play that relishes language and great story telling.
